I’m joining late but better late than never.
The Clear-the-List challenge is hosted by Lindsay (from lindsaydoeslanguages.com), Kris Broholm, Angel Pretot and Shannon of Eurolinguiste. The goal is to share monthly goals and support each other while learning foreign languages.
Goals for March 2017
I just started learning Brazilian Portuguese. My goal is to learn how to speak Brazilian Portuguese without using any translation or written script. In other words, I will only use videos and audio to learn. I intend to do that by learning the pronunciation first. Then I’ll immerse myself in the language with videos and learn vocabulary and phrases by relying on the context. It’s not the perfect ultimate method (as any other method) but I think that by doing no translation whatsoever I’ll start thinking in Brazilian Portuguese right away. And by using no written script at all I will learn to rely only on my ear and develop my oral comprehension faster.
Here are the things I want to do in March:
- post on Instagram every day to track my progress (@ropiquetlanguages),
- join the clear-the-list challenge to keep me accountable,
- go through the first two units of the Mimic Method to tune my mouth and learn the pronunciation,
- start mimicking with Easy Languages videos to learn basic vocabulary (and hiding the subtitles of course!).
My goal is to be able to introduce myself and say simple things at the end of the month. I want to learn basic vocabulary to be able to create my own simple sentences to start #iglc in April and keep me even more accountable (more on #iglc in the next Clear-the-List post).
See you next post for a review of this month!
